Hello, I'm

Charlotte

Charlotte is a highly-experienced researcher with over 15 years’ experience in the research and insights industry, working within consumer and B2B sectors.

After graduating with a BA in English and French from the University of Oxford and a Business Masters from the ESCP-EAP Business School in Paris, Charlotte started her market research career in the French capital in 2009, initially working client-side for the insight department of France’s largest consumer magazine publisher, Prisma Presse.

After nearly four years in the French capital, she moved to the UK in 2010 to lead marketing and communications at Manchester’s renowned conference centre, Manchester Central, where she honed my expertise in marketing and brand management.

She moved back into research and joined DJS Research in 2011, bringing with her cross-cultural knowledge of both research and marketing in consumer and business environments.

Since joining the company, she has led a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research across sectors. She has led complex, multi-method research projects applying structured project management approaches and delivering high-quality, actionable insights to clients. A true all-rounder, Charlotte combines leadership in both quantitative and qualitative research, developing an expertise in the latter.

As a linguist, Charlotte has developed a leadership role in international research, developing and maintaining an extensive global network of partners to ensure capabilities for researching all corners of the world.

Charlotte has particular sector knowledge in, education, construction, healthcare, events, media and publishing, design, brand and marketing.

She writes regular articles and thought leadership pieces for her sectors, a section of which can be found here:

The Operational Board is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business and developing the company’s business strategy. They are also fully hands-on, winning and delivering research projects.

Our Managing Director, Alastair Gleed, and several of our board members are founding figures of DJS Research, having joined in the early post-shed era of the company (intrigued... read about ‘the shed’) and have been in research since the previous millennium! In Spring 2024 we introduced a new scheme to bring fresh thinking and new energy into our boardroom, welcoming three new board members on a rotational basis. Both the initiative and the new members of the team were warmly received, and it's already paid dividends as the trio have had a hugely positive impact company-wide.

The role of the Trust Board is to ensure DJS Research is run in the best interests of all Partners and meets its legal responsibilities. It works closely with the Operational Board, offering strategic challenge and oversight.

Our company founder, and former Managing Director, Danny Sims, sits on the Trust Board, continuing to share his knowledge and experience garnered from over 30 years in market research. Financial oversight is provided by Finance Director, Rich Slater, while HR Manager, Lucy Pawson, champions the voice of our people through EO Voice – our employee council which represents the views and interests of everyone across the company and provides a direct route to both company boards. Our external Independent Trustee Director, John-Paul Simpson, provides an important and entirely neutral perspective on company matters and brings invaluable employee ownership expertise from his own business. His role is to protect employee interests, uphold company values, and ensure accountability across leadership.
