DJS Research has established itself as a proven partner of the Met Office and have managed its annual Public Perceptions Survey since 2018 as well as supporting the Met Office on a number of other ad hoc projects.
Each wave of the survey began with a thorough review of the questionnaire in collaboration with the client. DJS Research drew on its in-depth knowledge of the study and strong working relationship with the Met Office, to refine and optimise the questions set according to evolving priorities.
The in-house data team scripted the finalised questionnaire using its advanced survey platform, which was then rigorously tested.
Fieldwork was conducted via CAPI (face-to-face), utilising a nationwide team of interviewers to achieve a representative sample of 1,500 UK adults aged 16 or over.
We apply regional level quotas based on key demographics, such as age, gender and socio-economic group (SEG), to ensure representativeness. Moreover, we control for seasonal variation by conducting fieldwork at a similar time each year.
DJS Research proved themselves to be flexible partner, even in adverse circumstances, having had to temporarily transitioned the survey to a telephone survey in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Following the fieldwork stage, an in-depth report was provide of the latest findings, highlighting key trends, results from key segments, and the demographic differences.
To disseminate the findings to stakeholders, DJS Research provided multiple tailored debrief sessions and additional analysis sessions to answer any follow-up questions from stakeholders.
"I just wanted to say a great big thank you from the team here at the Met Office. It’s been a difficult year for us all and Alex, Claire and everyone involved at DJS Research have done a sterling job for us. The projects have had some pretty big challenges, which we worked through together and you produced results which elicited some really positive feedback from the team as well as some extra analysis which has been really useful. You’ve delivered everything on time and to great quality and just been super reliable. Please pass on our thanks to all at DJS Research!"
