US survey discovers parents like dining out with kids: A recent market research survey undertaken by Restaurant.com revealed that parents enjoy dining out with their kids and cite many benefits to the experience, with quality family time and education topping the list. Results show that three fifths (59%) of parents dine out with their children at least once a week, while seven out of ten (70%) say that going out to eat with their kids is a great way to spend time with the family.

The survey also found that two thirds (66%) of parents believe taking children out to eat offers educational benefits and provides the opportunity to try new foods that they would not have at home. In addition, more than half (57%) said that eating out is a good medium to emphasise table manners.

Restaurant.com reported that the most popular cuisine choice for family dining is American, with two fifths (40%) reporting it as their family’s favourite. Italian came in second receiving a quarter (25%) of the votes, followed closely by Mexican (21%).

Nearly all respondents (96%) have used a coupon or deal when dining out with their children, and more than a third (37%) reported that they do so more often than not.
