UK poll sees dame Helen Mirren voted female 'body of the year': A new poll on behalf of the LA fitness gym chain, which has more than 80 branches across the UK, has found 66-year-old Oscar-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren named "Body of the Year".
The survey asked 2000 men and women for their view on which celebrities looked the best regardless of their age. With 17% of the vote, Dame Helen Mirren beat runner up Elle Macpherson, the 48 year-old Australian supermodel otherwise known as ‘The Body’.
Ranking third place was 31 year-old actress Kelly Brook, and fourth place went to 42 year-old Jennifer Lopez, who is famous for her curves.
When it came to men, the poll respondents voted David Beckham in top place, followed by James Bond star Daniel Craig, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt.
Marketing Director Tony Orme commented on the results: "Helen Mirren's victory in our Best Body poll illustrates how, when it comes to body maintenance and well-being, age really is nothing but a number.”
He added: "It's great to see the public celebrating bodies of all shapes and sizes, and proving that you really can look fabulous over 40 and 50."
