Survey shows 'call of duty cough' to spread worldwide: A poll taken from the gaming website IGN has revealed a new 'illness' could be hitting the worldwide population on Tuesday, with the release of the most pre-ordered game in Amazon's history.
The 'Call of Duty Cough' refers to a fictitious illness that will affect avid players on the launch date of the game, allowing them extra time to get to grips with the new release.
Of 10,000 international gamers who answered to the poll, one in four admitted that they expected to feel an untimely illness to coincide with the release of Activision's latest instalment of the Call of Duty franchise: Black Ops 2.
According to the IGN survey, 99% of the respondents were unsurprisingly male. Of the overall pool of respondents, two in five were between the ages of 18 and 24, 32% fell between the 25 to 34 year olds category, and one fifth were between the ages of 13 and 17, a demographic that suggests that schools and universities may be more significantly affected by the losses than the workplace.
The respondents, on average, said they expected to spend an average of 5.5 hours of 'ill-gotten' time on the game on launch date alone.
