Survey sees UK businesses keen on keeping up with technology: The latest annual survey of senior managers by Deloitte has found that UK businesses are increasingly adapting new technologies to support customer demand.
Questioning Chief Information Officers (CIOs), the market research found that the vast majority think their companies will either keep the same healthy technology budget or increase it in 2013.
Over the past year, the study found that that due mostly to customer demand, three in five businesses have developed a mobile app.
Furthermore, the number of companies that have set up a presence on a social media platform has nearly doubled in two years, which equates to three quarters of businesses now using this channel to communicate with consumers.
Another technology that has been increasingly embraced by UK organisations is the use of cloud services, with 60% of private sector companies and 25% of public sector organisations using some form of cloud computing.
In addition, the “bring your own device” (BYOD) trend has been adopted by 12% of those polled and a further 23% plan to take it up over the next 12 months.
