Survey reveals latest trends in corporate travel industry: New business support market research by Amadeus has uncovered some key findings about what corporate globe trotters want from their travel management companies (TMCs).
According to 600 buyers of business travel from a range of different industries, corporates are being provided with the online self-booking tools they need to manage their travel, with over half of UK respondents doing so instead of via the phone, email, or face-to-face.
In addition to providing online booking services, 41% of the respondents claimed they would like their TMC to provide more advice about travel options and destinations.
Another industry discovery was a positive attitude towards gathering feedback from corporate travellers – 60% of respondents stated that making traveller feedback part of the booking experience would be “nice to have”, while a quarter (25%) felt this is essential.
In contrast however, business travellers themselves seem less enthusiastic about giving feedback, since the majority of TMCs (54%) reported that less than half of their travel clients respond to requests for feedback.
In terms of future developments in the industry, the survey found that over half the respondents (51%) plan to provide business travellers with more convenient options, such as weekend departures instead of Monday morning and allowing corporates to add leisure travel to either side of their trip.
