Survey finds that Save the Children has the most effective management in the voluntary sector

July 2017

Survey finds that Save the Children has the most effective management in the voluntary sector: A survey conducted by the ratings firm, ViewsHub, consists of 50,000 charity professionals, who were asked to rate their co-workers' leadership, as well as those from other companies, on a scale of one to five, in three areas.

The key areas of the survey focused on: operational excellence, project delivery and how responsive they were to feedback.

Out of the organisations that were surveyed, Save the Children came out on top, with their senior management team achieving an impressive 4.5 out of 5. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation came in second, with a rating of 3.7 out of 5; very closely followed by WWF in third place, who had a score of 3.6 out of 5.

The company behind ViewsHub wish to make the charity market more competitive, so more charities can step up their levels of efficiency in order to help more vulnerable people and animals.

At the moment, the charities have a combined income of £39 billion a year, which is then used to fund various causes. For example, charities fund 60% of cancer research and over 40% of all medical research.
