Survey demonstrates MBA graduates earning more than a decade ago: The latest Careers Survey by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), an international authority on postgraduate business education, has shown that an MBA degree still packs a punch, despite the weak state of the economy.
MBA graduates from business schools with AMBA accreditation are currently earning the highest average salary in the UK since 2004, with 11% more graduates reporting a salary above £70,000 compared to those surveyed in 2010.
In addition, the average (mean) earning of MBA graduates working in Britain stands at over £82,000, which is the highest figure since 2004. Median earnings such as bonuses now stand at £90,000, representing a rise of 7% compared to 2010.
Nevertheless, the survey found that the prevalence of bonus structures has declined since a decade ago, with 10% less MBA graduates currently receiving variable cash earnings.
The study also discovered that there has been a 67% increase in female MBA graduates in the legal profession compared to ten years ago, while overall there is at present a strong representation of MBA graduates in all sectors – 15% of the respondents work in consulting, 11% in finance, 10% in industry, 9% in healthcare, 9% in public service, 5 % in energy and 5% in consumer goods.
