Scottish survey shows declining landline use: A poll of over 2,000 participants uncovered that more than 1 in 3 people, in Scotland, do not answer their landline in favour of using their mobile phone.
The poll also highlighted that 28% of those surveyed could not even recite their home phone number as it is rarely used. In fact, 51% of the respondents admitted to either ‘rarely’ or ‘never’ using their landline.
It was found from the results of the research that 10% of people do not plug their home phone in.
The desire for connection to the internet was of a higher priority than having a landline, which is illustrated by the fact 40% of landline owner no longer wish to keep their home phone.
Along with the finding that the average adult remembers just 4 home phone numbers, regular calls, for personal purposes, were ranked as the fifth reason keep their landline.
