Poll finds 32% of Britons not bothered to recycle: A poll of 2,000 people by packing manufacturer Tetra Pak has shown that even though 95% of people think recycling is important, a third of Britons can't be bothered with it.
The study to determine recycling habits in the UK has found 40% of those surveyed don't recycle daily, and more than half of respondents sometimes bin recyclable waste.
Apart from the 32% who admitted that sometimes they can't be bothered to recycle, the most common reasons for not going Green is being in a rush or running late at 34%.
Tetra Pak's Environment and Communications Director, Rupert Maitland-Titterton, commented: "It seems that good habits are getting abandoned too easily. We believe strongly in protecting the environment and minimising our impact on it. By making small changes to our day-to-day recycling habits we can all help boost recycling levels in the UK and help to protect our environment, now and in the future."
Nevertheless, the report findings demonstrated that 80% of people do have a 'Green conscience', with 40% of those polled claiming they feel guilty about failing to recycle.
In addition, over two thirds of Britons believe they recycle to the best of their ability the majority of the time.
