Over half UK adults feel the Government has not handled coronavirus pandemic well: A survey which was undertaken in July has found that more than half of UK adults (56%) feel the government has not handled the coronavirus pandemic well – which is also a significant increase since May when the last poll was conducted (39%).
The survey of 2,246 people for the Health Foundation found that just two-fifths (40%) feel like the handling of the situation has been 'just about right', which is also a sizeable fall from four months ago, when the same response was given by 58%.
Half the respondents polled said they feel the government's measures have not gone far enough, up from 37%.
More than three -quarters of respondents said that when it comes to public transport and wearing face masks, the guidance has been clear, but 54% believe that guidance around who you can meet up with and the number that is permitted is unclear.
Dr Jennifer Dixon, the charity's chief executive, said: "Managing the pandemic is a complex and changing task, but this survey shows declining public confidence in how the government is handling the situation."
