More than half Labourlist readers believe the next government will be Conservative: A survey of Labourlist readers has found that 55% believe a Conservative government in some form after the next election is most probable - with 45% believing a Labour-led administration would be the outcome (when omitting 'don't know' answers).
The survey of Labourlist readers – a British news website supportive of, but independent of the Labour Party – polled 7,197 readers between August 14 and August 16.
Breaking down the results further, more than a quarter (26.7%) said they think the outcome will be a Conservative majority, while 12.3% said it will be a Conservative minority government (12.3%) and 4.2%, a Conservative-led coalition.
Just 8.4% said they believed a Labour majority would be the outcome, while 14.9% predict a Labour-led coalition, and 11.7% believe a Labour minority government will be the result.
Around a fifth of respondents (21.8%) answered 'don't know'.
A similar survey was conducted by ConservativeHome (considered the Conservative equivalent to Labourlist) and found almost three-quarters of readers (74%) predict a Tory majority.
The poll also asked respondents if they were happy with Keir Starmer's leadership so far, with 34.3% saying they were 'very unhappy', and 33.8% saying they were 'very happy'. Around one in seven (16%) said they were 'fairly happy', while 13.8% said they were 'fairly unhappy'.
When asked about their favourite Labour cabinet members, David Lammy came top, followed by Ed Milliband, Rosena Allin-Khan, Angela Rayner and Lisa Nandy.
Anneliese Dodds, Emily Thornberry, Cat Smith, Andy Mcdonald and Jonathan Ashworth also featured in the top ten.
