Market research shows efficient internet access is crucial to Britons

June 2013

Market research shows efficient internet access is crucial to Britons: A survey carried out by networking products provider TP-LINK has demonstrated how important efficient Internet access is to the UK public.

Of the 3,000 Britons who took part in the market research, streamlined Internet access was found to rank amongst one of their highest priorities – for men, it was rated more important  than warm shelter and food.

In addition, more than 51% of the respondents claimed Internet access has strengthened their friendships, while a quarter felt that going online has allowed them to experience a stronger sense of belonging. On the other hand however, only 7% of the surveyants reported having experienced a positive change in their love lives because of the Internet.

Another finding of the study was that during a normal 24 hour day, 50% of people spend more time online than sleeping. Furthermore, as many as 82% of the survey respondents reported feeling extreme frustration or anger whenever their Internet connection failed.

Country Manager at TP-LINK UK, Eric Wang, commented on the survey results: “As our recent research shows, in the current increasingly digital world, quick and easy connectivity is one of the main concerns in people’s minds in the UK.”
