Market research reveals current attitudes of Britons towards plastic surgery

Market research reveals current attitudes of Britons towards plastic surgery: A new survey by beauty retailer Fabriah.com has discovered that most British women now prefer to allow themselves to grow old gracefully – the majority interviewed said they would shun plastic surgery, even if it was offered to them for free.

Of the 750 women polled, only 44% would opt to go under the surgeon’s knife, but they said they would only do so if they could be sure that a little ‘nip n' tuck’ would make them both more attractive and younger-looking. This will never be the case however, since many celebrities have had work done with disastrous effects.

The survey also revealed a significant divide in opinion depending on the age demographic amongst British women. Not surprisingly, 18 to 30 year olds were the most likely group of women to consider surgery and those over 55 were the least likely.

In addition, city ladies were more in favour of plastic intervention compared to women who lived in the countryside.

Interestingly, while the study shows that more and more British women are now turning their backs on plastic enhancements, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons has shown that men are becoming keener on defying age – the male rate of ‘nip ‘n tuck’ patients is climbing at a faster rate than ever before.
