Many Britons not overjoyed about making Christmas dinner finds poll: According to a poll by recipe and ingredient delivery service HelloFresh.co.uk, many Britons shy away from cooking or helping to prepare the annual the Christmas dinner.
Over one in four of the respondents who took part in the study dodge Christmas dinner duty, with the younger demographic being the most culpable.
As many as 44% of under-45s avoid getting involved in helping out with the festive feast, and almost a third still rely on their parents to provide the annual feast.
In addition, while the poll discovered that the "Golden Age" relating to when people first cook or help with the Christmas dinner is 23 years old, 28% of Britons (equivalent to 17.5 million across the UK) have yet to do that at this age.
When questioned what made them afraid of tackling the festive meal, the biggest majority were concerned about not getting the timings perfect, followed by serving under-cooked food, burning the dinner, not defrosting the turkey fully and forgetting a vital ingredient.
Furthermore, women were found to be more concerned about the timings and undercooking food than men, while more males feared burning the meal.
Nevertheless, 45% of the respondents said they felt no concern or fear about making Christmas dinner, so the tradition is not under threat of dying out.
