Leeds has the most electric vehicle charging bays but ranks ninth on the list of best UK cities for parking: A recent study into parking in the UK has found that despite having the most electric vehicle charging points, Leeds is the fourth worst major UK city for parking, with just London, Sheffield and Edinburgh ranking worse.
The study by Select Car Leasing observed 12 major UK cities to illicit which is the best for parking your car. The survey based the list on the 15 car parks that were closest to the city centre and took into account the number of parking bays, number of disabled bays, number of electric vehicle charging points and the price of each car park.
When looking at the cost to park in each city, London was found to be the most costly, with an average price of £39.54 for one day of parking. Nottingham was found to be the cheapest with an average daily stay of £13.87, followed by Leicester with £16.13.
Birmingham was found to have the most parking bays with over 13,500 in the 15 car parks closest to the city centre. Furthermore, Birmingham was found to have almost 500 disabled parking bays; making it the best city for disabled parking in the UK.
On the other hand, Edinburgh was found to be the worst place for parking despite having the second most electric vehicle charging points. The Scottish capital was found to have the second least disabled parking bays, just 24 more than London, charging an average of £16.52 per day.
