These details are then drawn upon at a later stage to recruit a cross section of individuals to take part in an in-depth interview in order to develop individual qualitative case studies or ‘portraits’.
This involves choosing around 10 individuals from the quantitative phase of research that appear to represent different illustrative examples, case studies or pen portraits. We can hand-pick participants based on their responses in the quantitative survey in order to illustrate certain segments and bring them to life.
We would then carry out face-to-face interviews with the selected individuals. These would be open ended discussions lasting up to one hour, which would be carried out by experienced researchers and audio recorded for analysis.
