Market research databases

Market research databases

Market research databases are organised pools of data used to store, manage and retrieve information. The information found in market research databases includes consumer research, market insight, and analysis on a wide range of industries.

As well as providing broad analysis of whole industries, market research databases can also provide information which relates to specific companies. Market research databases contain both written reports, statistical accounts and sometimes a combination of the two.

The platforms used to support access to the data found in market research databases are known as Database Management Systems (DBMS). DBMS provide the control of access to data, enforces data integrity, recovers databases after failures, and sustains database security for market research databases.
