Key verifying

In market research, key verifying is a critical quality control process used during the data entry stage to ensure the accuracy and integrity of collected data. The process involves two individuals independently inputting the same set of raw data, typically from surveys, interviews, or observational research, into a database or spreadsheet. Once both entries are completed, the two datasets are compared to identify any discrepancies or inconsistencies.

This method helps prevent errors that may arise from misreading responses, mistyping numbers, or misinterpreting open-ended answers, particularly when dealing with large volumes of data or complex coding schemes. By catching and correcting these errors before data processing and analysis, key verifying ensures that the final dataset is reliable, robust, and suitable for drawing accurate conclusions.
