The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) was founded on the 16th May 1911. CIM's Royal Charter states that it is a body set up 'to promote and develop the art and science of marketing and to encourage, advance and disseminate knowledge, education and practical training in and research into that art and science.’ In order to reach these aims, the CIM set global industry standards, provide training and offer practice-based qualifications.
As the CIM are the world’s leading professional marketing body, they have developed the Global Professional Marketing Framework (GPMF). This is the recognised standard for marketing excellence worldwide. This is an important framework in the marketing industry as it outlines which skills and behaviours are needed to succeed and therefore helps identify strengths and gaps, all in aid of building a meaningful marketing career.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing also offers globally recognised marketing qualifications that help marketers stand out in a competitive market. The highest CIM qualification you can achieve is the Chartered Marketer status. Gaining such qualifications can be extremely beneficial for professionals trying to progress in their career. Studying with CIM allows marketers to build a professional network, gain employer recognition and develop their depth and range of knowledge.
