Business to Consumer (B2C) market research

Business to Consumer (B2C) market research is research conducted with consumers on behalf of businesses. It may also be simply called consumer research.

Research will be conducted with consumers who are asked questions relating to a product or service provided by a business/organisation. 

An example of Business to Consumers (B2C) market research may be a food manufacturer conducting research amongst food shoppers to ask for their opinions of a new food item.

Examples of the sectors where B2C research are widely used are: FMCGs, local councils or government, IT and telecommunications, media and publishing and supermarkets. These sectors may also conduct Business to Business (B2B) market research.

B2C market research includes both quantitative and qualitative research and can be conducted using an array of methodologies spanning both online and offline activities.
