The normal process for an accompanied shop is that the researcher tours a shop or other premises with the respondent and carries out a depth interview at the same time; if the respondent agrees, the researcher may also take video clips of the shopper to understand the most prominent places to display goods, and to give clients an understanding of the way in which shoppers navigate the store. They should not be confused with mystery shopping market research.
